KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Josh Hamilton and Hank Conger homered to back Billy Buckner’s first major league win since 2009 as the Los Angeles Angels won their seventh straight, a 7-0 shutout of the Kansas City Royals.

The resurgent Angels have outscored opponents 54-18 during their longest winning streak of the season.

Hamilton homered with two outs in the seventh, his 900th career hit. He has five RBI in his past five games after driving in only four runs during his previous 32 games.

ORIOLES 6, BLUE JAYS 5: Danny Valencia hit a two-run homer and Adam Jones added a solo shot to help Baltimore win at Toronto.

Valencia connected off R.A. Dickey with a second-deck drive in the third inning, his second home run of the season — both in the past two days. Jones chased last year’s NL Cy Young Award winner with a blast in the seventh, his ninth of the year,and third in three games.

YANKEES 4, RAYS 3: Lyle Overbay homered with two outs in the 11th inning, and New York rallied late to beat host Tampa.

TWINS 3, TIGERS 2: Joe Mauer homered and had three hits as Minnesota snapped a 10-game losing streak with a win at Detroit.

Mauer had already earned the ire of Detroit fans when he broke up Anibal Sanchez’s no-hit bid in the ninth inning on Friday night. He was booed when he came to bat in the first inning Saturday — then booed some more after his solo homer to right field.

ATHLETICS 11, ASTROS 5: Josh Donaldson had four hits as Oakland won at Houston. Chris Young added three hits and drove in two runs as the A’s had a season-high 18 hits.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

BRAVES SWEEP METS: Dan Uggla hit an RBI single in the 10th inning as visiting Atlanta won 7-5 in a resumed game that had been suspended by rain Friday.

In the second regularly scheduled game, light-hitting pitcher Mike Minor homered for his first two RBI in the majors and struck out 10 as Atlanta won its eighth straight, 6-0.

PHILLIES 5, NATIONALS 3: Michael Young scored the go-ahead run from first base on a single in the eighth inning, and Domonic Brown homered and hit an RBI double as Philadelphia won at Washington.

PIRATES 5, BREWERS 2: Pedro Alvarez hit two home runs, Andrew McCutchen also went deep, and Jeff Locke (5-1) pitched six shutout innings as Pittsburgh won at Milwaukee.

REDS 5, CUBS 2: Todd Frazier drove in a pair of runs with a sacrifice fly and a single as Cincinnati won at home, its fifth straight victory. The Reds have won 13 of their last 16 games, surging to a season-high 13 games over .500 at 31-18. It’s their best start since 1995.

GIANTS 6, ROCKIES 5: Angel Pagan hit a dramatic inside-the-park home run with a runner on in the bottom of the 10th to give San Francisco a win at home.

Troy Tulowitzki had led off the 10th with his 10th home run to put the Rockies ahead 5-4.

DODGERS 5, CARDINALS 3: Adrian Gonzalez homered and drove in three runs and Mark Ellis lined a go-ahead double in the sixth inning as host Los Angeles snapped the Cardinals’ three-game winning streak.

INTERLEAGUE

WHITE SOX 2, MARLINS 1: Conor Gillas-pie hit a run-scoring single in the ninth inning, lifting Chicago to a win at home.
