BANGOR — A 31-year-old Mars Hill woman is facing up to 30 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to a charge of production of pornography.
Julie M. Carr entered her plea today in federal court in Bangor to charges that she used a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct so she could post video on the Internet.
The Bangor Daily News says the case came to the attention of police when investigators in the United Kingdom found a live Webcast of a woman committing sexual acts on a young child. UK investigators contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the broadcast was traced to Mars Hill.
Carr also faces state charges of gross sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a minor.
