TOPSHAM — The Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit says a Topsham doctor faces child pornography charges following the discovery of hundreds of images and videos on two computers seized from his home.

Fifty-nine-year-old Dr. David A. York was arrested Tuesday on five counts of possession of sexually explicit materials depicting children under 12. He was released from Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset on $2,500 cash bail.

A law enforcement official says York is a general practitioner, the kind of doctor who typically sees patients of all ages. He works for Concentra Medical Centers in Augusta and Lewiston.

State Police Col. Patrick Fleming say there’s no indication that any of the images are of Maine children.
