Bill Cox has joined DMM, Inc., of Scarborough as director of technology. He previously held positions at Wright Express Corp. and Unisys.

Kat Powers of Scarborough has been named marketing and sales director at Custom Coach and Limousine. She brings more than 30 years experience to the position, and her background includes running her own interior design business for the past 20 years.

Margaret Minister O’Keefe rejoins Pierce Atwood LLP as a partner in the intellectual property and technology and litigation practice groups. She spent the last three years as general counsel and chief licensing officer for angela adams designs.

Valarie Coolong has joined Camden National Bank as assistant vice president, commercial banking officer. She most recently served as home services manager at Knickerbocker Group, a design and construction services company.

Martin Bailey, an agent with The Prudential Insurance Co. of America’s Greater New England, has been appointed to sell Liberty Mutual auto and home insurance. He brings nearly three years of experience selling insurance to customers in Maine.

Andrea Irwin of Portland has joined Consumers for Affordable Health Care as a health policy advocate and coalition coordinator. She brings eight years of experience working in law and policy advocacy to the organization.

Robert Iaderosa has joined AspenCross Financial Group as a senior associate. He brings more than 25 years of experience helping individuals, families and small-business owners with their personal insurance, employee benefits and investment management needs.

AWARDS and RECOGNITION

• Photographer Mary Woodman of Kennebunkport has received two merit awards in COLOR magazine’s international Single Image Contest 2010. “Robin’s Egg” won in the metaphor/abstract category and “Olson House #2” in the digital conceptualization category.

Donald R. Woloszyn, M.D., has been issued board certification as a sleep study provider by the American Board of Internal Medicine-Pulmonology.

Jean Sylvester, branch manager at Northeast Bank’s Buckfield location, is retiring after a 30-year career in banking. She worked at this location for her entire career and has been a mainstay in the community.

Joseph Conforti, American and New England studies professor at the University of Southern Maine, is the 2010 recipient of the Constance H. Carlson Public Humanities Prize. With his colleagues’ help, he has built USM’s only graduate program in the humanities into one that developed a reputation for excellent teaching as well as research and publication.

Dawn Marceau of Risk Placement Service, Inc., has been named Insurance Professionals of Greater Portland’s Rookie of the Year for 2010. She was honored for her significant contributions to the association and commitment to continuing her education in insurance.

Robert Barnes, funeral practitioner at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home in Portland, has been elected president of The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards. He has worked for 36 years at the funeral home and is past president of the Maine Funeral Directors Association.

Marco Forato, Trisha Mason and Lynne Houle have been named to the World Affairs Council of Maine’s Board of Directors. Forato is vice president of marketing strategy and communication for Unum; Mason is director of the Center for International Education at the University of New England, and Houle is a member of Bernstein Shur’s business law practice group.

Jeffrey Worthing, CPA, has joined Biddeford Savings Bank’s board of directors. He is the founding principal of Worthing & Going, PA.
