Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies continue to search for the person who robbed a Standish convenience store Wednesday, and are focusing on the possibility the robber may live in the area.

Deputies reported that the man rode a bicycle up to Tabor’s Variety Store at 2 p.mm., robbed the store clerk at gunpoint, then pedaled off. A witness followed the robber, who the pointed a gun at the witness to scare them off, deputies said.

The robber then pedaled the bright blue mountain bike into the woods near Shadow Lawn Drive.

Investigators believe the robber may be a local person. They say it is unlikely the robber bicycled a long distance to the store for the robbery and they did not find a discarded bicycle in the woods, which might have suggested another form of transportation.

Authorities have security video of the robber showing a Patriots sweatshirt and bandana covering the person’s face, but cannot discern the identity.
