Air Force Airman Ashlee L. LaBrie graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of James Jones of North Attleboro, Mass., and Christina Boyle of Scarborough. LaBrie is a 2007 graduate of Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin, Mass.

 

Army Capt. Caroline Kennedy, daughter of Fred and Anne Kennedy of Scarborough, recently returned from her second combat tour in Iraq. Kennedy is an intelligence officer assigned to a special operations unit at Fort Campbell, Ky. She is a 2002 graduate of Scarborough High School and a 2006 graduate of Tufts University.

 

Operation: Military Kids, a national program, is offering several activities for school-age military children during April in conjunction with Month of the Military Child. Information about OMK is available at www. operationmilitarykids.org by selecting “state information.” Activities include: “What Happens When BNAS Closes,” Thursday in Topsham; “Kids, Kids, Kids Conference” on Saturday at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield; and a National Guard trip to the Boston Science Museum on April 23 and 24.

Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund offers college scholarships to the children of military veterans who sustained injuries or loss of life while serving in the armed forces.
