Three masked men broke into an apartment in Portland’s Sagamore Village early this morning, tied up a woman and her children and robbed them at gunpoint, police said.

Police were called to an apartment on Josslyn Street at 2:46 a.m.

The 40-year-old woman reported that she and her children, ages 9 and 11, had been sleeping when the three attackers burst into the apartment and fired a gunshot and demanded money, police said.

The robbers fled with cash and a briefcase. Nobody was hurt.

Police tried to track them with a police dog but were unsuccessful.

Police ask that anyone with information contact Portland police at 874-8533.
