BRUNSWICK – Trinity College used a four-run rally with two outs in the seventh inning to break an 8-8 tie and beat Bowdoin 12-9 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference softball game on Friday afternoon.

Gen Barlow had two hits and drove in three runs to pace the Polar Bears (25-10, 4-3 NESCAC East), who earlier overcame a 7-3 deficit.

Shavonne Lord added a pair of hits, including an RBI double, and scored three runs for Bowdoin against the Bantams (19-8, 8-1).

COLBY 11, BATES 2: Kelly Roth hit a two-run single and Barbara Santos belted a two-run homer during a 10-run rally in the seventh inning as the Mules (9-16, 1-6 NESCAC East) beat the Bobcats (4-17, 0-7) at Lewiston.

Monica Berube and Lauren Dobish each had a solo home run for Bates.

TUFTS 5, BOWDOIN 0: Kevin Gilchrist pitched a one-hitter as the Jumbos (20-3, 8-1 NESCAC East) shut out the Polar Bears (20-9, 3-4) at Brunswick.

Brendan Garner had a double for Bowdoin.

BATES 3, COLBY 1: Paul Chiampa gave up four hits and one run while striking out eight in eight innings to lead the Bobcats (17-8, 3-4 NESCAC East) over the Mules (11-11, 2-8) at Lewiston.

Gordy Webb broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth.

Nick Ruocco had two hits for Colby.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

UNE 14, NICHOLS 4: Cara Cole scored five goals to lead the Nor’easters (11-4) past the Bison (4-9) at Biddeford.

Mallory Long added three goals and two assists, and Kim Bilodeau had a goal and four assists.
