LEWISTON – Katie Stewart and Liz Clegg each scored four goals Tuesday to help Bowdoin to a 17-6 women’s lacrosse victory over Bates.

Katie Herter added three goals for the Polar Bears (10-4, 6-2 NESCAC), who won their fourth straight.

Joan O’Neill and Lindsay Thompson each had two goals for the Bobcats (6-7, 2-6).

 

USM 17, RIC 6: Jess Knight and Mary Vaughn each had three goals as the Huskies (8-8, 2-3 Little East) beat Rhode Island College (3-9, 0-5) at Providence, R.I.

BATES SWEEPS UM-FARMINGTON: The Bobcats (22-8) upped their winning streak to eight with 12-4 and 6-4 wins against the Beavers (5-22) at Farmington.

In the opener, Chris Burke and Noah Lynd homered as Bates scored seven runs in the first inning. Burke was 4 for 5 with three runs and four RBI.

Lynd had a two-run homer in the seventh inning of Game 2.

 

COLBY 5, THOMAS 0: Nikolas Atsalis went 3 for 3 with a run and an RBI as the Mules (12-15) shut out the visiting Terriers (13-22) at Waterville.

ST. JOSEPH’S 13, THOMAS 7: Spencer Hunt had five goals and four assists and Kody Peckham also scored five times as the Monks (9-7, 5-4 NAC) beat Thomas (3-8, 2-6) at Waterville.

 

USM 15, UMASS-BOSTON 13: Tim Bryant and Mark White each had two goals and three assists, leading the Huskies (3-10, 1-5 Little East) past the Beacons (4-10, 0-6) at Gorham.
