BIDDEFORD – Tyler Audie singled in the second run of a two-run fifth inning and was the winning pitcher Friday as Biddeford downed Portland 3-2 in a Telegram League game.

Audie gave up two runs on one hit and seven walks, striking out six in 52/3 innings.

Scott Callahan added a pair of hits and scored on Audie’s single that gave Biddeford (1-2) a 3-0 lead.

Portland (2-1) scored twice in the sixth before Travis Vigneault came in with two outs and runners on first and third to induce a fly out.

Nick Volger hit an RBI single and Adam Gould threw a four-hitter for Portland.

CAPE ELIZABETH 6, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Rob MacDonald pitched a five-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Capers (4-0) defeated the Patriots (0-4) at Gray.

The Capers went ahead 4-0 in the second inning on a two-run homer by Jack Berber and an RBI single by Cam Brown.

Tanner Garrity had three hits, and Sam St. Germain and Kyle Danielson each had two for Cape Elizabeth.

Ryan Cavallaro doubled home Taylor Valente in the fourth for the Patriots.

POLAND 8, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Matt Brausier gave up one hit and one walk with 11 strikeouts in six innings as the Knights (1-3) cruised past the Hawks (0-2) at South Hiram.

Mike Littlefield went 2 for 3 with three RBI for Poland, which broke a scoreless tie with a four-run third.

Connor King added two hits and two RBI for the Knights.

Kyle Martineau had the only hit for Sacopee, a double.

GEORGES VALLEY 16, BOOTHBAY REGION 13: Alec Young was 4 for 5 with a home run and six RBI to help the Buccaneers (1-1) beat the Seahawks (0-3) at Boothbay Harbor.

Boothbay led 10-9 going into the top of the sixth, but Georges Valley took advantage of four errors and a wild pitch to score five runs.

WELLS 6, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Paul McDonough allowed an unearned run on two hits in six innings, and had three hits, two runs and an RBI to lead the Warriors (2-3) past Fryeburg Academy (0-4) at Wells.

McDonough struck out 12 and walked three. He didn’t allow a hit until Andrew Rascoe’s RBI single with two outs in the fourth.

McDonough singled and scored in the first, and had an RBI triple in the third as the Warriors took a 3-0 lead. Louis DiTomasso added a two-run homer in the sixth.

Doug McLean, J.T. Sherburn and Alec Gatzogiannis also drove in runs for Wells.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 13, WAYNFLETE 2: Henry Fast was 3 for 4 with a double and four RBI, and Christopher Leblanc went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBI to pace the Panthers (2-0) at Portland.

Sam Hutchinson was 2 for 3 with four runs. Dean Darien earned the win, striking out 10 in five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks.

 

GARDINER 12, CAMDEN HILLS 1: Adam Landweehr homered for the Windjammers (3-1) in a loss to Gardiner (4-0) at Rockport.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 4, MARANACOOK 2: Brandon Reilly tripled, and Kyle Scherer and Jeff Lamb each had a single and a run for Lincoln Academy (1-3) against Maranacook (1-3) at Readfield.

CAPE ELIZABETH 12, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 2: Tom Foden had seven goals and an assist to lead the Capers (4-2) over the Panthers (1-2) at Cape Elizabeth.

Tim Takach had two goals and an assist, and Harper Nelson chipped in a goal and three assists for the Capers. Jack Roos made 15 saves for the win.

Isaac Lipton and Tim Millett scored for NYA.

KENNEBUNK 13, SCARBOROUGH 11: Nick Gross had six goals and an assist as the Rams (3-1) defeated the Red Storm (2-2) at Scarborough.

Bobby Kramer added four goals while Rob Stockbridge made 17 saves in his first varsity start.

John Wheeler had three goals and two assists for Scarborough.

SOUTH PORTLAND 13, WESTBROOK 2: Harrison Keithly had seven goals and two assists, and Adam Burpee added two goals and five assists as the Red Riots (5-0) downed the Blue Blazes (0-4) at Westbrook.

Travis Libby made 15 saves for South Portland.

Brad Stiles and Austin Watts scored, and Brandon Hurd stopped 15 shots for Westbrook.

BRUNSWICK 14, CONY 1: George Mills and John Swisher each had three goals as the Dragons (2-0) beat the Rams (0-4) at Brunswick.

Zach McMillian and Brandon Sawyer combined to win 15 of 17 faceoffs for the Dragons.

LEWISTON 13, OXFORD HILLS 3: Curtis Robinson had six goals and an assist to lead the Blue Devils (2-1) over the Vikings (1-3) at South Paris.

WAYNFLETE 15, YORK 5: Zander Majercik had four goals, Miles Beaven added three goals and an assist, and Chris Burke and Josiah Baker-Connick each had two goals and two assists for the Flyers (1-1) against the Wildcats (0-3) at Portland.

Kyle Robinson scored four goals for York.

BIDDEFORD 5, DEERING 4: Ethan Pratt scored 33 seconds into overtime, and finished with two goals and one assist to lift the Tigers (3-2) over the Rams (2-2) at Portland.

Len Dube also had two goals and one assist for Biddeford, which led 4-3 until Deering tied it on a goal by Riley Asbury with 17 seconds remaining in regulation.

MORSE 10, GARDINER 7: Pat Wolfe scored three goals to lead the Shipbuilders (3-1) over the Tigers (2-2) at Gardiner.
