TURNER — Police say a Maine woman has been fatally shot and her husband is in custody.

State Police spokesman Steve McCausland says Androscoggin County sheriff’s deputies were called to a house in Turner at about 3:30 a.m. today, where they found 38-year-old Jane Tetreault dead.

McCausland says Tetreault’s husband, 45-year-old Brian Nichols is in custody. He says one of the couple’s sons, who is 17, was at home at the time.

An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday.

McCausland says the couple worked for the local Service Master franchise in Lewiston.

Maine State Police are investigating the death of a woman in Turner.

Steve McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said the Androscoggin County sheriff’s office, received a call from East Hebron Road about 3:30 a.m. today.

The deputies found 38-year-old Jane Tetreault dead in the home.

Police are calling the death suspicious.

McCausland says a man identified as 45-year-old Brian Nichols is in custody and is being questioned.
He says a 17-year-old was home at the time of the shooting and was not injured.

Detectives were still at the scene late this morning, along with a person from the state Medical Examiner’s office.
