FRYEBURG — Maggie McConkey hit a two-run triple and an RBI single, and Carla Tripp had three hits and scored two runs to lead Fryeburg Academy to an 8-6 win Monday over Greely in a clash of unbeaten Western Maine Conference softball teams.

The Raiders (9-0) broke a 5-5 tie with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Kelsey Sheehan doubled home the go-ahead run, and Ashley Watkins added an RBI single after an error allowed Sheehan to score.

Emma Seymour hit a two-run double and scored a run for Greely (6-1). Marika Stayte had a pair of hits and two RBI.

WELLS 8, CAPE ELIZABETH 7: Meaghan Lewia led off the bottom of the first with a home run to get the Warriors (5-3) started in a victory over the Capers (2-5) at Wells.

Wells scored seven runs in the third inning to open an 8-2 lead. Sarah Gilpatrick hit a two-run double, and Lewia and Kelsey Bragdon each added an RBI single.

Ally Boyington had two hits and Gabe Donohue hit a triple for Cape Elizabeth.

FREEPORT 7, LAKE REGION 3: Leigh Wyman pitched a four-hitter and drove in two runs with a pair of single as the Falcons (2-6) beat the Lakers (2-6) at Freeport.

The Falcons scored four runs in the second inning, aided by six walks.

FALMOUTH 9, POLAND 2: Maddie Inlow hit a two-run single during a five-run third inning and finished with three RBI as the Yachtsmen (4-3) downed the Knights (0-8) at Falmouth.

Nicole Foley added a single and a double, and Kelsey Freedman struck out eight while pitching a six-hitter.

Libby Bernier had a double and a triple for Poland, and Kate Brigham hit an RBI double.

BONNY EAGLE 1, NOBLE 0: Connie Grovo’s drive over the outfield brought in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth as the Scots (4-3) edged the Knights (1-7) at  Standish.

Hannah Goodale struck out 14 batters, walked none and surrendered four hits to earn the win.

KENNEBUNK 7, DEERING 0: Hannah King struck out nine batters and pitched a two-hitter as Kennebunk (5-2) beat visiting Deering (2-6).

Kelly King drove in three runs with a double in the first inning.

PORTLAND 6, MASSABESIC 5: Maddie Crockett scored the go-ahead run on a single by Hannah Higgins in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Bulldogs (1-7) edged the Mustangs (2-5) at Portland.

Higgins finished with two hits and two RBI.

SOUTH PORTLAND 11, GORHAM 0: Alexis Bogdano-vich struck out 13 and walked one while tossing a two-hitter and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Red Riots (8-0) past the Rams (2-5) at South Portland.

Danielle DiBiase, Danica Gleaton, Stephanie Thibeault and Katlin Norton also had two RBI apiece. Amanda Linscott contributed a pair of doubles.

SANFORD 7, WESTBROOK 2: Sam Adams hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning as the Redskins (3-4) pulled away from the Blue Blazes (1-7) at Sanford.

Grace Collinson pitched the first four innings for Sanford, allowing no hits and three walks.

CHEVERUS 11, MARSHWOOD 0: Theresa Hendrix went 3 for 4 with two triples, three runs scored and two stolen bases as the Stags (6-2) downed the Hawks (3-5) at Portland.

Hendrix also was the winning pitcher, striking out seven in five innings.

Maggie Corrigan added a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in two run.

McAULEY 25, WINDHAM 0: Allina Verrillo went 4 for 5 with a home run and seven RBI as the Lions (6-1) won a five-inning game against the Eagles (1-7) at Portland.

Gabby Townsend hit a two-run homer and Shelby Bryant had three his for McAuley, which scored six runs in the first inning and 16 in the second.


SACOPEE VALLEY 6, BUCKFIELD 1:
MacKenzie Ross had three hits, and Whitney Stacey struck out eight while tossing a two-hitter as the Hawks (4-1) downed the Bucks (2-2) at South Hiram.

Sacopee broke the game open with four runs in the sixth. Ross and Julia Vacchiano each had an RBI and scored a run.

MARANACOOK 3, MEDOMAK VALLEY 2: Sarah Maxwell struck out 14 and walked none while pitching a two-hitter as the Black Bears (6-1) edged the Panthers (5-2) at Waldoboro.

Medomak’s Kayla Santheson allowed just three hits.


ERSKINE ACADEMY 5, MT. ARARAT 4:
Sam Morse homered in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Erskine (7-1) a win over Mt. Ararat (3-4) at South China.

Mt. Ararat tied the game in the top of the seventh on an RBI single by Tess Hitchcock.

LINCOLN 9, NOKOMIS 5: Katherine Bolster hit a bases-loaded triple, and Amelia Pennington had two singles and scored twice as the Eagles (7-1) beat the Warriors (4-3) at Newcastle.

Anna Boudreau added a single and a double for Lincoln.

OAK HILL 3, CAMDEN HILLS 2: Abby Goulet drove in the winning run in the top of the ninth as the Raiders (7-0) edged the Windjammers (3-4) at Rockport.

Camden Hills pitcher Hayley Buckheit struck out 11 and had two doubles and two RBI.

HALL-DALE 16, WISCASSET 7: Carylanne Wolfington had a single, a double and a triple and drove in five runs as the Bulldogs (4-2) beat the Redskins (0-6) at Wiscasset.

Kayla Barton added two doubles and four RBI

 

LACROSSE
WAYNFLETE 11, CAPE ELIZABETH 7:
Martha Veroneau scored four goals, and Amy Allen and Scout Haffenreffer added two apiece to lead the Flyers (4-1) past the Capers (3-3) at Cape Elizabeth.
Lauren Steidl scored three goals, and Anna Darling chipped in with a goal and three assists for the Capers.

THORNTON ACADEMY 11, WINDHAM 7: Jackie Costello scored four goals, and Erin Kany had two goals and three assists for the Golden Trojans (3-1) in a win over the Eagles (1-2-1) at Saco.
Michelle Giroux also scored twice. Windham was paced by Samantha Gifford with three goals.

FALMOUTH 18, GREELY 8: Laura Fay scored four goals to pace the Yachtsmen (5-1) to a win over the Rangers (0-5) at Falmouth. 
Emma Sipperly and Alex Bernier finished with three goal each for the Yachtsmen.
Melanie Howland scored four goals for Greely.
