Louie, 7-year-old neutered male beagle mix, is well loved at the shelter. Before he was born Louie’s mother contracted distemper, and he has some physical quirks as a result. His skull is rounded, his nose tips up and the pad is a little hardened, he has a misaligned jaw and recently required dental work for painful teeth that had gaps in their enamel, and at night he twitches in his sleep. We’re finding all that pretty easy to live with, because Louie is so easy to live with. He would do best in a home without cats, however. He enjoys low-key attention in between comfy naps on his bed. If he didn’t stand up now and then, we’d hardly know he was there.

Beau, a 10-year old Labrador/husky mix, is spunky and full of life. In addition to his high spirits, Beau is a smart dog who knows how to sit, shake, speak and fetch, to name a few. Beau should do fine sharing a home with respectful dogs and children over the age of 12 who won’t overwhelm him.

Pididdle is a pretty 7-year-old female with muted, patch colors and was found as a stray in Old Orchard Beach. She had a bad eye infection which resulted in the loss of her eye. She is a sweet girl who is a bit timid because of her outdoor experience, but she warms up to people very quickly. She would do best in a quiet home with other pets if introduced slowly.
