BIDDEFORD – Travis Vigneault hit a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Biddeford to a 6-5 win over Scarborough in a Telegram League baseball game Monday.

Dan Murphy and Andrew Meyers each had an RBI single as Scarborough (5-3) used a three-run fourth to open a 4-0 lead.

Biddeford (5-4) answered with three in the bottom of the inning on a two-run single by Nick Gagne and an RBI single by Tyler Audie.

The Red Storm got another run on Jacob Rutt’s RBI single in the fifth.

 

CAPE ELIZABETH 1, FREEPORT 0: Cam Brown hit an RBI double in the 10th inning to give the Capers (10-0) a victory over the Falcons (2-8) at Cape Elizabeth.

Jack Barber singled, took second on an error and scored on Brown’s hit.

Brown also was the winning pitcher, giving up two hits in four innings after relieving Will Pierce, who struck out 13 and allowed just one hit.

Spencer Egan went the distance for Freeport, allowing six hits.

 

WAYNFLETE 3, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2: David Gorsky scored on a suicide squeeze by Andrew Butler in the bottom of the sixth to lift the Flyers (3-3) over the Seagulls (6-2-1) at Portland.

Gorsky had a pair of doubles and two RBI. Waynflete starter Charlie Laprade gave up two runs on four hits while striking out six over six innings.

Brandon Ouellette and James McDermott each drove in a run for the Seagulls in the top of the sixth.

 

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, WELLS 5: Pat Robinson had three hits, including an RBI double, and the Patriots (5-6) held off the Warriors (3-7) at Wells.

Jesse Ordway, the winning pitcher, hit an RBI single in the fifth to give Gray-NG a 6-2 lead. Wells got a run in the bottom half and two in the sixth.

 

LAKE REGION 8, YORK 5: Travis Linehan hit two of four home runs for the Lakers (4-6), who scored four runs in the sixth to beat the Wildcats (5-4) at York.

A pair of bases-loaded walks and a sacrifice fly by Dan Place keyed the Lakers’ late rally.

Linehan and Austin Wood started the game with back-to-back homers, but Paddy Murphy’s two-run shot helped York take a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the first.

Lake Region tied it on solo shots by Place in the fourth and Linehan in the fifth. Murphy answered with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.

 

FALMOUTH 7, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Mitch Beaulieu pitched a six-hitter, and Joe Burns went 2 for 4 with three runs scored and an RBI as the Yachtsmen (7-3) shut out the Raiders (4-7) at Fryeburg.

Matt McDowell’s RBI single in the fifth gave Falmouth a 2-0 lead. The Yachtsmen added five runs in the seventh.

GEORGES VALLEY 5, BOOTHBAY 1: Alec Young tossed a three-hitter and Sam Tarbox hit a two-run double as the Buccaneers (4-5) downed the Seahawks (1-9) at Thomaston.

Dan Gagnon struck out 12 for Boothbay.

BIDDEFORD 4, PORTLAND 3: Amethyst Hersom led off the bottom of the seventh with a double, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Renee Trottier to lift the Tigers (8-2) over the Bulldogs (1-9) at Biddeford.

The Tigers trailed 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth but tied it on an RBI triple by Katelyn Lebreux and an RBI double by Sarah Gilblair.

Maggie Kilbride and Stephanie Rodgers each hit an RBI single for Portland.

 

THORNTON ACADEMY 9, CHEVERUS 8: Julia Geaumont singled home the winning run in the sixth inning as the Golden Trojans (7-3) edged the Stags (8-3) at Saco.

Chrissy Remmes had a double, a triple and four RBI, and Meghan Agger hit a home run for Thornton.

Theresa Hendrix had a single, two doubles and a triple for Cheverus.

DEERING 9, WINDHAM 8: Anna Lisa Ferrante went 3 for 4 with a home run, and the Rams (4-6) held off the Eagles (1-10) at Windham.

Ferrante’s solo shot in the seventh put Deering ahead 9-3 before Windham scored five runs in the bottom half.

Brianna Johnson had three singles for Windham.

 

MASSABESIC 6, BONNY EAGLE 5: Taylor Bergeron hit a two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Mustangs (3-7) rallied past the Scots (6-4) at Waterboro.

Massabesic trailed 5-0 before scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Emily Schatz drove in two runs with a triple.

Lindsey Somerset and Brooke Van Rosendael each went 2 for 3 with an RBI for Bonny Eagle.

 

SANFORD 13, MARSHWOOD 3: Kendra Legere had four hits and drove in two runs to pace a 20-hit attack for the Redskins (6-4) against the Hawks (3-7) at South Berwick.

Denise Freitas added a double and a home run for Sanford, which has won five straight.

Savannah Landis and Sammy Crossman each had two hits for Marshwood.

KENNEBUNK 7, NOBLE 3: Janelle Bouchard had three hits, including a home run, and two RBI to lead the Rams (8-2) past the Knights (1-9) at North Berwick.

Kelly King added two hits and an RBI.

WINDHAM 11, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Ryan Littlefield scored four goals and assisted on another, and John Skvorak added two goals, two assists and 12 ground balls for the Eagles (5-3) against the Raiders (1-7) at Fryeburg.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

BRUNSWICK 11, CONY 9: Leila Mills scored seven goals to help the Dragons (7-1) overcome a 6-4 halftime deficit against the Rams (5-2) at Augusta.

Mills struck twice in the first eight minutes of the second half, and Maggie Caputi put Brunswick ahead with 16:25 to play.

MCAULEY 12, BIDDEFORD 8: Torrie Tenenbaum scored three goals to pace the Lions (3-5) over the Tigers (1-6) at Portland.
