Painter Lynn Krauss displays a series of woodcuts and etchings at Daunis Fine Jewelry Studio, 616 Congress St., Portland. The art will be on display through June 30.
A former interior designer for an architectural firm, Krauss says her work is about color and pattern.
“I tend to create separate bodies of work, investigating a single idea or theme for about a year,” she said in a statement.
“Musical Chairs” is a series of nine prints from a single woodcut. In the first she has nine overlapping chairs in three rows of three, and with each print eliminates a chair until there is a single chair left.
“Not My Problem” depicts a stack of black chairs balancing over a single red chair.
“Like my paintings, my series layer upon each other,” she said.
