NEW FACES

• Ann Stanton has joined the staff of Seacoast Hand Therapy of South Portland. She has more than 15 years experience as an occupational therapist and a hand therapist in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

• Kate Lanman has joined Macdonald Page & Co LLC as a staff accountant in South Portland. She began her career with the firm in 2009 as an intern.

• James McQuaid has been hired as director of pharmacy services for Maine Veteran’s Homes. He has been working in the pharmaceutical field since 1971.

• Allison Talon and Deanna Bennett have been hired at Coastal Women’s Healthcare as nurse practitioners. Talon has her masters of science in nursing and previously worked for seven years in Primary Care. Bennett also has her masters degree and has been working in a family practice setting.

• Mark Callahan has been hired by Trask-Decrow Machinery as utility equipment expert. He brings more than 35 years experience in the industry and offers extensive expertise in the field.

AWARDS and RECOGNITION

• The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers, a nonprofit agency operating the state’s longest running adoption program, has been named Community Organization of the Year by the Maine Children’s Trust. This award recognizes the agency’s support to the cause of strengthening families and the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

• Ridge York, a Portland Realtor, has been awarded the Certified Residential Specialist designation by the Council of Residential Specialists, the largest nonprofit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. He is a broker with RE/MAX By the Bay and a member of the Portland Board of Realtors.

• Perry Newman, founder and president of Atlantica Group LLC, has been honored by the State of Israel, Consulate General of Israel to New England, for his work in developing economic collaborations between Israel and New England.

• Insurance Professionals of Greater Portland was recognized at the National Association of Insurance Women Regional Conference for its dedicated service. The group was the recipient of the 2010 Runner Up of the Karolyn E. Frost Public Relations Award, as well as the 2010 Winner of the Margaret M. Horvarth Education Award.

• Laurie Jones Mitchell, director of employee health improvement for MaineHealth, will receive the Irve Marsters Wellness Champion Leadership Award for an individual, and Hannaford Bros. will be recognized as the business receiving the award.

• John Leonard, president and CEO of the MEMIC Group, has been elected 2010 board chair of the National Council on Compensation Insurance, Inc. He has served as a member of the board since 2007, on both the finance and compensation committees, as well as the nominating committee.

• Roger Normandeau of Sanford, Wayne Cotterly of Lewiston, John Nicholson of Millinocket, Dwayne Guy of Rockland, Philip O’Brion of Farmington Elizabeth Butler of York, Andrew Bolz of Sanford, Glenn McCallum of Biddeford-Saco, Claris Ranger of Farmington and Irvin Pillsbury of Sanford, have been installed as officers for Maine Elks for the 2010 to 2011 year.
