NEW FACES

Chris Lawrence has been hired as a sales executive at Winxnet. He previously worked as a senior account manager for 11 years at Time Warner Business Class, New England. 

Amanda Downing has been hired as a project manager at Winxnet. Downing is a PMI-certified project manager who previously worked at L.L. Bean as a project manager and business system team leader. 

Steven Cox, Certified Public Accountant, has joined NUA Advisors LLC, of Portland. He brings 25 years of experience in the employee benefit field. 

Cherilee Budrick has accepted the position of mill communications manager at Verso Paper. In this position, Cherilee will be responsible for managing communications within the mill, in the local community, and strategic communications with key constituent groups. 

Alyssa Murphy has joined Harriman, a full-service architecture and engineering firm. She brings 10 years of experience in design and construction administration.

Kevin Chute has been hired as director of sales at Legacy Publishing. He has extensive direct response call center management experience, most recently as the inbound sales manager at MediaPower in Portland. 

Jaclyn Cockburn has accepted a two-year appointment to the College of the Atlantic, teaching earth science and geology. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and earth science and master’s and doctoral degrees in geography, all from Queen’s University in Canada.

PROMOTIONS

Legacy Publishing has promoted Pam Dixon to sales trainer, Anton Kaufer to sales manager of its Brunswick office, Adam Demmons to national media buyer and Wayne Thornton to the role of sales supervisor in Auburn. Dixon has been with the company since 2002, Kaufer joined earlier this year, Demmons has been with the company since 2007 and Thornton joined in November 2009. 

Danielle Dubuc has been promoted to managing partner of LongHorn Steakhouse’s South Portland location. She brings more than 13 years of restaurant experience to her new position.

Gloria White has been promoted to sales executive at Winxnet. White started working with the company in 2008 as an account manager.

AWARDS and RECOGNITION

St. Andre Health Care received the Partner for Change Award from Practice Greenhealth. The award honors outstanding achievements in the health care sector. 

Sudzie Autowash Inc. has been selected 2010 Best of Scarborough in the car wash category by the U.S. Commerce Association for the second consecutive year. Since operations began in 2004, more than 200,000 vehicles have been washed. 

News 8 WMTW-TV was recognized with a 2010 Emmy Award for best newscast, the top news honor from the 2009 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, New England. This is the news station’s third consecutive award. 

GENERAL

CIEE has announced new leadership for its board of directors and academic consortium board. Robert Fallon has been elected chair of the board of directors and Kenton Keith has been elected vice-chair. Neal Sobania has been elected chair of the consortium board and Jol Gallegos has been elected vice chair. Michael Stohl is the outgoing chair of the board of directors and Kathleen Sidell is the outgoing chair of the consortium board. 

Cottage Connection in Boothbay was selected to operate the rental program of the Sheepscot Harbour Village and Resort Condominium Association. The company has 17 years of local experience in property management, vacation rentals and customer service. 

Mary Darling was elected board president for the Crisis & Counseling Centers’ board of directors. She has been a member of the board since May 2009 and has experience as manager and facilities coordinator.
