PORTLAND U19: The Portland U-19 team defeated Kearsarge, N.H. 27-0 in the semifinals and in the final defeated Seacoast, N.H. 17-0 to win the New Hampshire-Maine League championship.
Tomas Callan and Joe Turner each scored tries.
ROWING
YALE-HARVARD REGATTA: Harvard won its third straight Yale-Harvard Regatta, holding on to beat Yale by six seconds in the 145th running of the 4-mile race on the Thames River, in Ledyard, Conn.
Yale took a quick lead over the first mile, but Harvard pulled away at about the 2-mile mark to win the upstream race in 19 minutes, 40.3 seconds.
Harvard is 91-54 in the race and has won 10 of the last 11, sweeping the varsity, junior varsity and freshman races each of the last three years.
