Scarborough Police said a teen who survived a fatal prom night accident last month was involved in a head-on collision this morning. Neither driver in this morning’s crash was seriously injured, police said.

Police said in a release that they received calls about the accident at Route 1 and Milliken Road just before 9 a.m. Police said witnesses reported a red pickup truck driven by Kevin Grondin, 19, of Scarborough, crossed the centerline into the path of a tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer was driven by Ryan Dube, 20, of Sidney.

Police said Grondin was taken by ambulance to Maine Medical Center in Portland with non-life threatening injuries. Dube was not injured, police said.

Grondin was a passenger in a May 9 crash that killed his best friend Steven Delano, 18, on the way to the Gorham High School prom. The cause of this morning’s accident remains under investigation, police said.
