“BABETTE’S FEAST”
gives new meaning to the phrase “dinner and a movie.” If it’s been a while since you’ve seen this classic food film, head to Damariscotta on Sunday. After the film, make your way to the Damariscotta River Grill, where Chef Rick Hirsch will re-create the movie’s famous five-course meal with wine: oyster stew, blinis Demidoff, quails in puff pastry with wild mushroom stuffing, spring green salad and a dessert of raclette, poached fruit and shortcake. Reservations are required for both the movie and dinner.
WHEN: 3 p.m. screening; 5 p.m. dinner
WHERE: Skidompha Library Porter Meeting Hall, 184 Main St. (film); Damariscotta River Grill, 155 Main St., Damariscotta (dinner)
HOW MUCH: Free for screening; dinner costs $60 per person
