MBR will hold a one-day basketball event at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland on Sunday.
The event offers girls’ age divisions from 10U to 16U and boys’ divisions from 11U to 17U. Middle school, junior high, high school, travel, YBOA and AAU teams are welcome. Contact Tom Nolette at 210-1823 or tom@mbr.org.
The makeup tryout for the Libby-Mitchell American Legion Post 76 baseball team will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Scarborough High field. Players from ages l4 through l9 interested in either the Junior Legion team or Senior Legion team should bring their original birth certificate, spikes, glove and hat and be prepared to play. Qualifying for the Portland City Championship at Riverside Golf Course starts this Monday and ends Monday, July 5. The cost is $35 for two rounds of qualifying and an additional $16 per round cart fee if riding. Sign up in the pro shop and leave your phone number for future matches. Match-play rounds will be $10 for nonmembers.
