SCARBOROUGH – Freshman Marisa O’Toole hit a bases-loaded single in the seventh inning Friday to lift top-ranked Scarborough to a 2-1 victory against ninth-seeded Bonny Eagle in a Western Class A softball quarterfinal.

Bonny Eagle (8-10) scored a run in the first, and Scarborough (18-1) tied it in the third.

Melissa Dellatorre of Scarbor-ough pitched a five-hitter, striking out 13 and walking one.

 

SOUTH PORTLAND 6, MCAULEY 4: Stephanie Thibeault had a pair of hits and drove in three runs for the second-ranked Red Riots (16-1), who were forced to rally past the seventh-seeded Lions (11-6) in a Western Class A quarterfinal at South Portland.

McAuley built a 3-0 lead in the second inning before South Portland scored two in the third and two in the fifth.

The Red Riots then broke the game open with a two-run sixth, capped by Danica Gleason’s RBI single.

Gleason finished with three hits and Alexis Bogdanovich struck out 10 in a three-hitter for South Portland.

Shelby Bryant had a pair of hits for McAuley, including an RBI single.

 

KENNEBUNK 1, BIDDE-FORD 0: Hannah King pitched a three-hitter with five strikeouts and no walks, Kelly King homered, and the third-seeded Rams (14-3) edged the sixth-ranked Tigers (11-6) in a Western Class A quarterfinal at Kennebunk.

Kelly King hit a one-out homer to center field in the second inning and finished with two of her team’s three hits.

Hannah King’s biggest threat came in the sixth when she allowed a one-out double to Sarah Gilblair.

 

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3, OAK HILL 0: Abby Ryan’s three-run homer in the sixth inning lifted the fourth-ranked Patriots (15-2) over the fifth-seeded Raiders (13-4) in a Western Class B quarterfinal at Gray.

Alex Thompson led off the inning with a double and Laura Getchell reached on an error before Ryan’s homer.

 

GREELY 4, LINCOLN ACADEMY 1: Mary Zambello gave up five hits, walked four and struck out five to lead the third-ranked Rangers (15-2) over the sixth-seeded Eagles (13-4) in a Western Class B quarterfinal at Cumberland.

After each team scored in the first inning, Bryce McEwen led off the second with a single for Greely, then scored from first when Lindsey Arsenault bunted and the throw went into right field. Arsenault reached third on the play and scored on Katie Whittum’s single.

 

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 10, LISBON 6: Brylie Walker and Ariel McConkey each went 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBI to lead the top-ranked Raiders (16-1) past the ninth-seeded Greyhounds (13-5) in a Western Class B quarterfinal at Fryeburg.

After Lisbon scored five runs in the second inning, including doubles by Ashley Beaulieu and Alexa Harmon, Fryeburg responded with four runs in the third and three in both the fourth and sixth.
