Soccer Maine held its State Cup Finals in the U12 to U14 age brackets on June 6, crowning six state champions: Seacoast United Maine, U12 boys and U13 girls; Velocity SC, U12 girls; Maine Coast United, U13 and U14 boys; and Blackbear United FC, U14 girls.

The teams will represent Maine at the U.S. Youth Soccer Region 1 Championships in Barboursville, W. Va., from July 1-6.

 

Stewart Everard made a hole-in-one on the 104-yard 13th hole at Fox Ridge Golf Club on June 3. Everard used a gap wedge for the shot, which was witnessed by Bruce Jobe and Don Labombard.

 

Sharon Sudbay of Portland scored a hole-in-one on the 127-yard fourth hole at Riverside Golf Course on June 4. Sudbay used a 6-iron for the shot, which was witnessed by Michael Pizzi of Portland.

Kelly Cates used a 5-iron to ace the 203-yard 16th hole at Fox Ridge Golf Club on June 5. The shot was witnessed by Gary Chapman, Craig Chapman, Matt Carroll and Steve Brooker.

 

Craig Fader used a 7-wood to ace the 150-yard seventh hole at Naples Golf Course on June 11. The shot was witnessed by Jeff Gray and Ralph Howcroft. It’s the second hole-in-one at Naples for Fader.

 

Jamie Boutin of Rockland aced the 10th hole at Rockland Golf Club on June 11. Boutin used a 5-iron for the 183-yard shot, which was witnessed by Jim Raye, Les Raye and Jon Hardy.

 

Tom Childs used a 7-iron to ace the 13th hole at Spring Meadows Golf Club on June 12.
