LOS ANGELES – In “Jonah Hex,” raven-haired beauty Megan Fox plays a Wild West prostitute who ends up in huge gun battles, knife fights and explosions. So, of course the conversation turns to her underwear.

While co-star Josh Brolin camped out three hours a day in a makeup chair to look the part of badly scarred comic book hero Hex, Fox’s preparation involved some serious body squishing. She spends the movie trussed up in a corset.

Basically, the corset constricted her waist to the size of a man’s wrist.

Despite how painful it looks, Fox says she loved the outfit.

“Everyone was afraid I was in pain because my waist was so small. But I enjoyed it, and I wish they would come back” in style, says Fox.

Brolin, on the other hand, had a different kind of transformation.

“There were many different layers to the makeup, including a mouthpiece that held my mouth all the way back,” Brolin says, demonstrating by hooking his finger in his mouth and pulling.

The device made it impossible for Brolin to eat during the day. He’d have a big breakfast and only drink water until the makeup was removed late at night.

The water was a must on location in sweltering Louisiana.

Brolin wanted to wear a contact lens that would make his eye look as distorted as the comic book character’s.

An eye infection put that idea to rest.

The transformation was worth the time and effort to the Oscar-nominated actor.

“It lent to the kind of curmudgeony feel of the character,” Brolin says.

Brolin says the film will attract an audience because people can relate to the themes of revenge and retribution.
