PORTLAND – Nick Whittaker gave up two runs in five innings to earn the win and had two hits and drove in two runs to lead OA-Yarmouth to a 12-4 victory over First Title in an American Legion game on Tuesday.

Will Strabley added three hits and drove in a pair of runs for OA-Yarmouth (1-2), which broke the game open with five runs in the fourth inning.

Jack Bushey hit a two-run double for First Title (2-1). Harry Ridge added two hits and one RBI.

 

STAPLES CROSSING 9, KENNEBUNK 2: Ethan Hawes had four hits and drove in two runs to lead Staples Crossing (3-0) at Kennebunk (1-1).

Ben Yarian added three hits and two RBI for Staples Crossing and Ian McAllister struck out nine batters in pitching an eight-hitter to earn the win.

Kennebunk got two hits apiece from Matt Dube, Taylor Landry and Nick Philbrick.

 

FALMOUTH 2, ANDREWS 1: Dillon Dresser held Andrews (0-3) to three hits and one run on his way to edging Sam Perdomo at Portland.

Falmouth (1-2) reached Perdomo for five hits and two runs.

 

NOVA SEAFOOD 7, MOODY’S 1: Sam Balzano hit a two-run homer during a four-run third inning to lead Nova Seafood (4-0) past Moody’s at Portland.

John Hardy added two hits and one RBI for Nova Seafood and Nick DiBiase gave up one run over six innings to earn the win.

Moody’s got their run in the fourth inning when Steven Broy tripled and scored on an error.

 

SANFORD 6, MASSABESIC 4: Ryan Graffam doubled home two runs and also scored as Sanford (2-1) scored its runs in the third inning in a win over Massabesic (0-2) at South Hiram.

 

STOCKHOUSE RESTAURANT 9, CUMBERLAND 1: Sam Stauble singled home Sean Murphy and Zach Gardiner and scored on Jake Gardiner’s single to give Stockhouse (3-0) a 5-0 first-inning lead over Cumberland (1-1) at Westbrook.

Mark Divilinski struck out 13 for Stockhouse.

 

FAYETTE-STAPLES 12, NOBLE POST 87 6: Sam Canales hit a two-run homer during a five-run first inning and finished with two hits and four RBI to lead Fayette-Staples (3-0) past Noble Post 87 (0-3) at Saco.

John Pate added a pair of RBI for Fayette-Staples and Matt Turnage had two hits and scored two runs.

Noble was paced by Aaron Moore with two hits, two runs scored and one RBI.

MORRILL POST 13, LIBBY MITCHELL 2: Zach Horton had a two-run single in both the second and fifth innings as Morrill (2-1) used an eight-run rally and then a five-run rally to mercy rule Libby Mitchell (1-2) at Scarborough.

Brandon Horton also had RBI singles during each of the rallies. Lincoln Sanborn had an RBI triple for Libby Mitchell.

 

BIDDEFORD 2, POST 56-YORK 1: Mike Vadnais struck out three and allowed just one run on three hits over six innings to earn the win for Biddeford (1-0) as it edged Post 56-York (1-2) at Biddeford.

Trailing 1-0, Biddeford tied the game when Scott Callahan scored on an error in the fourth inning.

Biddeford broke the tie in the fifth when Vadnais singled, stole second and scored on a double by Callahan.

JUNIOR LEGION

SEACOAST LAW & TITLE 2, ALL SPORTS PRINTING 0: Keenen Lowe singled home Aaron Duncanson and Matt Moody in the top of the seventh for a Seacoast Law (2-0) victory over All Sports (1-4) at Standish.

Zach Bean pitched a three-hit shutout.

 

SOUTH PORTLAND 4, FREEPORT 3: Matt DiBiase hit an RBI single that scored William Bushey and broke a 3-3 tie to lift South Portland (2-2) over Freeport (0-4) at South Portland.

Dan Medici added a homer for South Portland, which trailed 3-2 going into the fifth inning.

Freeport was paced by Connor Dietrich with two hits, one RBI and one run scored.

 

WINDHAM 8, FALMOUTH 4: Shawn Francoeur singled, doubled and drove in three runs to lead Windham (5-0) to a win at Falmouth (1-3).

Windham starter Rick Williamson struck out 13 while pitching a complete game.

Grayson Beressi hit an RBI double for Falmouth.

CAPE ELIZABETH 3, FIRST TITLE 0: Will Leblond singled home Brett Parker and Derek Roberts to cap a three-run fifth inning and give Cape Elizabeth (1-0) a victory over First Title (3-1) at Cape Elizabeth.

Chad Peterson scored the first run on an error.

Leblond also pitched a five-hit complete game, striking out nine.

HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR ALL-STARS

NEW HAMPSHIRE 9, MAINE 4: Gardiner’s Forrest Chadwick and Scarborough’s Jake Rutt each had two hits to lead Maine in a loss in the Maine vs. New Hampshire Senior All-Star Game at Gorham.

HIGH SCHOOL UNDERCLASS ALL-STARS

WEST 15, EAST 5: Zach Horton of South Portland and Lake Region’s Dan Place drove in two runs apiece to lead the West in the Maine Underclass Showcase All-Star Game at Gorham.

Hampden Academy’s Cody Miller went 2 for 2 with a double and three RBI to pace the East.
