AMITY — A Lewiston woman says her ex-husband was selling prescription painkillers out of the home in remote northern Maine where he, their 10-year-old son and another man were fatally stabbed.

Jamie Merrill told the Associated Press her son had been living with her since March but was spending time this week with his father in the town of Amity. She said she worried for her son because her ex-husband, 55-year-old Jeffrey Ryan, was selling drugs.

Ryan, 10-year-old Jesse Ryan and 30-year-old Jason Dehahn, a friend who lived nearby, were found stabbed to death Wednesday night.

Merrill said her ex-husband told her he had recently acquired a pickup truck now being sought by police by swapping drugs for it.

Police today returned to the home in search of clues.

Investigators returned today to a mobile home in Amity where the bodies were discovered Wednesday night. Police identified the victims as 55-year-old Jeffrey Ryan, who lived in the home, and his 10-year-old son, Jesse, along with 30-year-old Jason Dehahn, a friend who lived nearby.
