ORONO — University of Maine police are leading an investigation into an attack on two university computer servers that may have exposed personal information of students.

The breach may have compromised the personal information of a small percentage of students who attended the university from the summer of 2002 to the present, according to the university.

More details are expected at a news conference at 2 p.m. today. UMaine Vice President for Student Affairs Robert Dana, Detective Sgt. William Flagg and other university personnel will be at the news conference.
