The Maine Tennis Association Championships will be held at the Waynflete Sports Complex July 9-11. Competition will be held in both men’s and women’s open singles and doubles as well as in men’s 35+, 45+ and 55+ singles. Big Hits Summer Softball Camp, sponsored by Scarborough Community Services, has announced its lineup of coaches: Deb Smith, University of Maine head coach; Lynn Coutts ( Frozen Ropes); Tom Griffin, Scarborough High varsity coach; Liz Winslow, Scarborough High assistant coach; Jen Williams, Southern New Hampshire assistant coach. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 12-17 at Scarborough High. Cost is $185, and Scarborough residents receive a $10-$15 discount. SailMaine will host the USA Junior Olympics Sailing Festival Northeast on July 13 off Portland’s Eastern Promenade. More than 300 sailors ages 8 to 18 will compete in four divisions.
