JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE is trying to make a name for himself as a singer/songwriter. He already bears the names of two others: His father, Steve Earle, and his father’s hero, Townes Van Zandt. Critics say he definitely has his own sound that’s rootsy and steeped in traditional folk music. Another rising roots music star, Boston-based Eilen Jewell, will open.

TROMBONE SHORTY & Orleans Avenue are billed as a “supafunkrock” group, but they’ve drawn raves from jazz and rock musicians alike. The band is fronted by 24-year-old Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, a New Orleans-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
