Portland firefighters have extinguished a blaze that eruped at the Maine Yacht Center shortly after noon today.

Firefighters, however, continued to pour water on a section of dock near the center’s fuel pumping station, where the fire apparently started.

No one was injured in the blaze, and no damage to boats was reported.

Boaters were briefly prevented from accessing their boats while the fire was extinguished .

Portland firefighters are responding to a blaze at 100 Kensington St., at the Maine Yacht Center.

Portland police said there was a fire at the center, and no injuries had been reported. Smoke could be seen rising above the Eastern Prom just after noon.

The center was previously seriously damaged in the 2007 Patriot’s Day storm.
