A Freeport woman was taken to Maine Medical Center this morning following a crash at Exit 20 northbound on Interstate 295.
Elizabeth Toothaker, 32, was getting off the highway at 7:19 a.m. when she failed to negotiate the merge onto Desert Road and hit the back of a tandem tractor-trailer truck, police said.
Toothaker was extricated from the Jeep she was driving and taken to the hospital for complaints of pain, police said.
The exit ramp was closed for about an hour.
