Thomaston’s Jones awaits final cut at Public Links

Ricky Jones of Thomaston shot a 4-over-par 75 Tuesday in the second round of the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship at Greensboro, N.C.

Jones was tied for 61st place with a two-day score of 147 before play was suspended late in the day because of dangerous weather, leaving 18 players with incomplete rounds.

Jones’ score also is the projected cut line to qualify for match play, which begins today following the completion of suspended play.
