More than $6.6 million in federal  homeland security grants is headed to Maine cities, towns and state government.

 Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, ranking member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, announced the grants this morning.

 The money is targeted for planning, training, equipment and exercises.
