BAR HARBOR — The owner of a Maine ice cream shop visited by President Barack Obama last weekend says the logo on her business sign is all about ice cream – not politics.
Some conservative blog writers have suggested the president’s visit to the Mount Desert Island Ice Cream shop was prompted by the shop’s logo of an upright black fist clenching a spoon – which resembles the clenched fist adopted as a black power symbol in the 1960s.

One blogger suggested the president decided on a press shoot there to send a message to his “core radical base.”
Shop owner Linda Parker told the Bangor Daily News it’s absurd to think the president used her shop to demonstrate allegiance to any sort of black power movement.
