ARLINGTON, Texas – Josh Hamilton drove in three runs, Tommy Hunter pitched into the seventh inning to remain unbeaten and the Texas Rangers beat the Los Angeles Angels 6-4 on Sunday night.

Texas, the AL West leader, won 3 of 4 in the series to build a seven-game lead over the second-place Angels.

Hunter allowed three runs and three hits over 61/3 innings to become the first Rangers pitcher to win his first eight decisions in a season. He’s the second player to accomplish the feat this season, joining Carlos Silva of the Chicago Cubs.

Hideki Matsui hit a two-run homer for the Angels.

ATHLETICS 6, WHITE SOX 4: Dallas Braden won for the first time in 10 starts since his perfect game May 9, ending a five-game losing streak as Oakland won at home.

Kurt Suzuki drove in three runs two days after receiving a $16 million, four-year contract, and Daric Barton hit a two-run single in the second.

YANKEES 12, ROYALS 6: Curtis Granderson hit a pair of homers, Alex Rodriguez drove in three runs — the last when he was hit with a pitch on the hand — and New York waited out a lengthy rain delay to win at home.

TWINS 10, ORIOLES 4: Jason Kubel hit his seventh career grand slam, Kevin Slowey took a five-hitter into the seventh inning and Minnesota won at Baltimore to end a run of four consecutive road series losses.

TIGERS, BLUE JAYS SPLIT: Ryan Raburn’s three-run double in the eighth inning capped a four-run rally that carried Detroit to a 6-5 victory and a split of a day-night doubleheader at home.

In the opener, Lyle Overbay hit a two-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning to snap a tie and send Toronto to a 5-3 victory.

RAYS 4, INDIANS 2: Reid Brignac hit a three-run homer that helped Wade Davis remain unbeaten in July as Tampa Bay won at Cleveland.

GIANTS 3, DIAMONDBACKS 2: Buster Posey had four hits to extend his hitting streak to 18 games and Travis Ishikawa hit a run-scoring single in the 10th inning, helping San Francisco complete its first four-game sweep at Phoenix in nine years.

DODGERS 1, METS 0: Clayton Kershaw scattered seven hits over eight innings in his first start since appealing a five-game suspension and Russell Martin hit a late RBI double for Los Angeles at home.

PHILLIES 4, ROCKIES 3: Jimmy Rollins singled home the tying run in the seventh inning, then put the Phillies ahead a by scoring on a wild pitch at Philadelphia.

BREWERS 8, NATIONALS 3: Casey McGehee and Rickie Weeks homered, and Milwaukee scored five unearned runs off starter Ross Detwiler to complete a three-game sweep at home.

PADRES 6, PIRATES 3: Adrian Gonzalez and Chris Denorfia homered, Wade LeBlanc won for the first time in six weeks and first-place San Diego finished off its only series sweep in Pittsburgh since 1998.

MARLINS 5, BRAVES 4: Wes Helms hit a bases-loaded RBI single with none out in the 11th inning at Miami, and Florida earned its fourth walkoff win of the week.

ASTROS 4, REDS 0: Wandy Rodriguez allowed one hit in seven innings, and Hunter Pence and Chris Johnson homered for Houston at home.
