AUGUSTA — Gov. John Baldacci has nominated the commissioner of Maine’s Department of Environmental Protection for a seat on the state’s Public Utilities Commission.
David Littell has been DEP commissioner for five years and served as deputy commissioner for two years before that. Before joining the DEP, he was an attorney with the Pierce Atwood law firm where he practiced environmental law.
Littell is being nominated to fill a slot that became vacant when PUC Chairwoman Sharon Reishus stepped down in July.
The state Senate is scheduled to hold a confirmation session Aug. 25.
