ALBANY, N.Y. – Laurine German had five of South Portland American’s 20 hits as the Maine champions improved to 2-0 in pool play at the Little League Softball Eastern Regional, rolling to a 19-3 win over Fairfax, Vt.

Michelle Moreau added three hits and pitched a three-hitter with four strikeouts. Kiley Kennedy and Paige Carter also finished with three hits.

South Portland plays Waterford, Conn., at 12:30 p.m. today.

JUNIOR LEGION BASEBALL

LEWISTON 3, WINDHAM MERCHANTS 2: Lucas Farrago struck out 15 and scattered nine hits, and second-seeded Lewiston (20-2) took advantage of four errors by top-seeded Windham (20-2) to clinch a spot in the championship game of the state tournament at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach.

Tucker Bowden had an RBI and scored a run for Lewiston, which is the only unbeaten team left in the four-team double-elimination championship round.

Cody Dube had three doubles and an RBI for Windham.

SEACOAST LAW AND TITLE 5, WINDHAM MERCHANTS 1: Cale Bollig pitched a five-hitter as third-seeded Seacoast Law and Title (18-6) beat Windham (20-3) in an elimination game.

Keenan Lowe hit an RBI triple and then scored to give Seacoast a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Seacoast broke it open in the sixth inning, getting RBI singles from Derek Bouchard and Cody Champagne to make it 5-1.

Nate Boyle pitched a six-hitter for Windham.

Seacoast advances to the finals today against Lewiston, needing two wins to claim the title.
