CORNVILLE — A Norridgewock man was killed early this morning in a single-vehicle accident on the Molunkus Road, police said.
Raymond Marr, 60, was traveling north, near the intersection of the Wood Road and Lower Mills Road, when he apparently lost control of his vehicle, Lt. Carl Gottardi of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department said this morning.
The accident was reported at about 12:35 a.m. Deputy Jeremy Leal responded to the scene and investigated the accident. He was assisted at the scene by the Madison Police Department, Cornville Fire Department and EMS Ambulance Service.
“It appears that the motor vehicle traveled into the opposite lane and that the operator over-compensated and lost control of the motor vehicle,” Gottardi said. “The motor vehicle then rolled over several times, landing in the ditch and trees, on its roof, on the opposite side of the roadway.”
Marr was alone in the vehicle, a 2007 GMC truck. He was not wearing a seat belt, but was not ejected, Gottardi said.
The truck was totaled.
The investigation is continuing into further causes related to this accident, according to Gottardi said.
