PORTLAND — Maine’s lobster boat races are returning to Portland Harbor for the first time in about 20 years.

Sunday’s racing is part of the 29th annual MS Harborfest, which features events throughout the weekend. The sailboat regatta is today.

Jon Johansen, president of the Maine Lobster Boat Racing Association, estimates that 50 or more boats could come out for Sunday’s race.

He says participants will include Galen Alley of Beals Island, who set a record this summer of 68.1 miles per hour on his “Foolish Pleasure.”
