Heartwood College of Art will host the art exhibition “Paint the ‘Bunk” from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Brick Store Museum, 117 Main St.

Tour of Shaker museum

The Waterborough Historical Society will meet at the Alfred Shaker Museum on Shaker Hill Road off Route 202 at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Earl and Betty Morrison will present a history and lead a tour of the museum, which celebrates the Alfred Shaker community that organized in 1793 and relocated to Sabbathday Lake in 1931 For more details, call Jim Carll at 247-5878.

The Friends of the South Berwick Library are raffling off a Kindle reading device as part of their campaign to raise $1 million to build a new library.

SMMC food, clothing drive

Southern Maine Medical Center will conduct a food and clothing drive from Saturday through Sept. 17 to benefit the Biddeford Food Pantry, Old Orchard Beach Food Pantry, Saco Food Pantry, Salvation Army, Stone Soup and the York County Food Rescue. Personal hygiene items also are appreciated.

Donations may be dropped off at SMMC’s Webber Building (use emergency entrance, and it is directly behind the MRI/Women’s Center) from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more details, call SMMC’s Community Relations Office at 283-7238.

Kayaking clinic on pond

Spectrum Generations will sponsor a kayaking clinic, detailing emergency recovery and rescue skills, at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at Biscay Pond.

Veterans aid training

The Veterans Independence Program to assist veterans in attaining home- and community-based services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center, 521 Main St.

Library friends meeting

The Friends of Waldoboro Public Library will hold their annual meeting on Tuesday at the library.

The event will include a pizza dinner at 5:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 6:15 p.m. and a slide presentation at 7 p.m., detailing Waldoboro resident Linda Robbins’ recent experience teaching children in Haiti.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a salad or brownies to share. Advance registration required by Saturday by calling 832-4484.
