WESTBROOK — Emily Grossman scored the winning goal on a back pass from Vanessa Bradbury as Westbrook took a 2-1 victory against Kennebunk in a Southern Maine Activities Association schoolgirl soccer game Tuesday.

Bradbury penetrated the goal area late in the match and played the ball back to the 18, where Grossman ripped a shot to the far post.

After Lauren Blais gave Westbrook (1-1) the lead in the first half, Alex Leonardi tied it for Kennebunk (1-1) midway through the second.

Ashley Richards had 11 saves for Westbrook. Margaux LeBlanc stopped 15 shots for the Rams.

 

FALMOUTH 4, POLAND 0: Sarah Hogan had a goal and an assist to lead the Yachtsmen (2-0) over the Knights (1-1) at Falmouth.

Hogan scored the first goal in the 20th minute and set up Cassie Darrow about eight minutes later.

Mary-Catherine Kowalski scored from Allie Lycan in the 52nd minute, and Jessica DiPhillipo got the final goal in the 70th minute from Cassidy Gaudette.

Elizabeth Estabrook and Jackie Doyle combined for two saves for Falmouth. Cassie Mocciola made 22 stops for Poland.

 

GREELY 8, WELLS 0: Audrey Parolin and Sammi Toorish scored twice each, and Lindsey Arsenault stopped the only shot she faced as the Rangers won at Cumberland.

Parolin also assisted on three goals and Toorish on two.

Kelly Burrell, Sara Schad, Sarah Ingraham and Mykaela Twitchell also scored.

Kaitlyn Tufts had 14 saves for Wells.

 

MCAULEY 2, BIDDEFORD 0: Katherine Lake scored from Carolyn Moore and Christina Leake from Shelby Bryant, both in the second half, to lead McAuley (2-0) over Biddeford (1-1) at Portland.

Adrienne Bowie of Biddeford and Molly Miller of McAuley each had 10 saves.

WAYNFLETE 4, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2: Elizabeth Bray scored three goals, including the go-ahead goal, as Waynflete won an opener at Portland.

 

BRUNSWICK 4, OXFORD HILLS 0: Dakota Foster scored two goals as the Dragons won at Brunswick.

Samantha Bessett and Cassandra Murano also scored, and Allie Walton provided two assists.

 

SACOPEE VALLEY 1, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Brooke Totman scored from Emily Lane after 13 minutes of the second half, and the Hawks (1-0) held off the Rangers (0-2) at Kittery.

Courtney Ross made 13 saves for the win. Selena Lorrey stopped 26 shots for Traip.

FIELD HOCKEY

CAPE ELIZABETH 1, FALMOUTH 0: Cathy Maguire scored off a corner midway through the second half to lift the Capers (3-0) over Falmouth (0-3) at Cape Elizabeth.

Maguire took a pass from Jane Coffrin and one-timed it for the goal.

Cape goalie Piper Otterbein had eight saves. Kelsey Freedman stopped eight shots for the Yachtsmen.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2, YARMOUTH 1: Ashley Guptill and Kaitlyn Johnston scored for the Patriots (1-2) against Yarmouth (0-3) at Gray.

Sarah Gorman answered for the Clippers.

 

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 10, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Kate Millett had four goals, and Kylie Dalbec and Katie Cawley added two apiece as the Panthers (2-0) handled the Rangers (1-2) at Kittery.

Francis Leslie and Megan Fortier also scored for NYA. Ashley Caldwell had Traip’s goal.

BRUNSWICK 3, MT. ARARAT 0: Kassie Coulombe scored after four minutes and the Dragons (1-1) went on to beat Mt. Ararat (1-1) at Brunswick.

Grace Rabinowitz and Annie Kelly also scored, and Sydney Escoe posted four saves in the shutout. Raven Demasi stopped nine shots for Mt. Ararat.

 

SACOPEE VALLEY 5, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Justine Ruhlin scored three goals as Sacopee Valley (1-0) beat the Seagulls (1-1) at Old Orchard Beach.

Ruhlin opened the scoring after 9:58. Ally Allard and Julia Vacchiano added first-half goals.

WINTHROP 9, BOOTHBAY REGION 1: Nikki Scott scored four goals, and Sarah Warner and Lauren Kaiser each chipped in two goals as the Ramblers won an opener at Boothbay Harbor.

Sarah Caron scored for the Seahawks.

 

YORK 2, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Chelsea Morley had assists on both goals as York (3-0) downed the Raiders (1-1) at Fryeburg.

Morley set up Katie Keegan at 23:35 and Hannah Keating at 11:32 of the first half.

GREELY 3, WELLS 2: Ceci Hodgkins scored the tying goal early in the second half and the winner in the second overtime as the Rangers (2-0) rallied past the Warriors (1-2) at Wells.

Rachel Hanson scored two minutes into the game and Jess Wilson set up the winner.

VOLLEYBALL

GREELY 3, YARMOUTH 0: Sara Warnock finished with 17 kills and Emily Sampson added 13 to lead Greely (1-1) over the Clippers (1-1) by scores of 25-11, 25-22, and 27-25 at Yarmouth.

Emily Clark led the Clippers with 14 kills and six blocks. Abbie Hutchinson added 11 kills.

 

FALMOUTH 3, SCARBOROUGH 0: Alana Becker had seven kills and 10 service points as the Yachtsmen (2-0) swept the Red Storm (1-1) by scores of 25-16, 25-12, 26-24 at Scarborough.

Kate Sparks had four kills and six service points, and Laura Fay had five kills and three blocks for Falmouth. Emily Robbins, who recovered from a knee injury in the second game, finished with 10 assists and Mackenzie Bowker had eight digs for the Red Storm.
