SOUTH HIRAM – Kara Singleton scored with 3:29 remaining Thursday to lift Sacopee Valley to a 2-1 victory against Old Orchard Beach in a Western Class C schoolgirl soccer game.

After Miranda Lessard gave Old Orchard (0-2) the lead with the only goal of the first half, Singleton set up Emily Lane midway through the second for Sacopee (2-0).

On the winner, Singleton settled the ball inside the 18 and tucked it into the far corner.

Courtney Ross made 12 saves for the Hawks. Jill Foss turned away 18 shots for Old Orchard.

FALMOUTH 5, LAKE REGION 1: Cassie Darrow scored twice as Falmouth (3-0) closed the game with three unanswered goals against the Lakers (0-2) at Naples.

Allie Lycan, Jessie L’Heureux and Jessica DiPhillipo added one goal and one assist apiece for Falmouth.

Tiana Carter scored for Lake Region to cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 47th minute.

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 5, VALLEY 0: Elaine Beech scored four goals in the first half to lead Greater Portland Christian (1-0) over Valley (0-2) at South Portland.

Robyn Waugh, who scored in the second half, also had an assist, as did Liz Garland.

YORK 6, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Addie Labonte scored twice, and Stephanie Gallagher had a goal and an assist to lead the Wildcats (2-0) past the Raiders (0-3) at York.

Shay Ganem, Emily Campbell and Kayla Swasey also scored for York, which held Fryeburg without a shot on goal.

GREELY 8, POLAND 1: Sammie Toorish had three goals and Sara Schad scored twice for the Rangers (2-0), who built a 3-0 halftime lead and pulled away from the Knights (1-2) at Poland.

Kelly Burrell, Audrey Parolin and Maggie Johnson also scored for Greely.

Emma Turton answered for Poland.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 3, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Kylie Dalbec had two goals and an assist, and Katie Millett added a goal and an assist as the Panthers (3-0) rallied past the Hawks (1-1) at South Hiram.

Sacopee Valley opened the scoring after 10 minutes when Ally Allard converted an assist from Justine Ruhlin. Dalbec tied it five minutes later from Millett.

NYA took the lead when Millett scored from Dalbec after five minutes of the second half, and Dalbec made it 3-1 three minutes later.

FREEPORT 2, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Korissa Lavers gave the Falcons (2-1) the lead with 23:26 left against Old Orchard Beach (1-2) at Freeport.

Dayze Gaulin set up the winning goal. Kayla Thurlow scored five minutes later to make it 2-0.

MT. ARARAT 2, LEWISTON 1: Caitlin LaFountain scored the winning goal from Charlotte Crosby with 3:09 left to lift the Eagles (2-1) over the Blue Devils (0-3) at Lewiston.

Amber Bowley scored from Crosby to give Mt. Ararat a 1-0 lead early in the second half. Saba Naji tied it with 7:23 left.

VOLLEYBALL

GORHAM 3, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Caroline Fogarty had five aces and 11 points, and Annie Brewer added five aces and seven points as the Rams (1-1) downed the Panthers (0-2) in straight games, 25-13, 25-19 and 25-8 at Gorham.

Leaha Keene had six assists and four kills for Gorham.
