A 65-year-old man from Springvale is listed in critical condition at Maine Medical Center after flipping his 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle in Acton this evening, according to Sgt. David Chauvette of the York County Sheriff’s Office.

The York County Sheriffs Office and Acton Fire Department responded to the crash at about 7 p.m. at the intersection of Fraiser Lane and Route 109 in Acton.

According to Chauvette, witnesses reported that the motorcycle was traveling at a very high rate of speed and was illegally passing a vehicle on the right when it left the roadway and went into a ditch. The motorcycle then hit a culvert at Fraiser Lane where it flipped numerous times, ejecting the rider, who was taken to the hospital by LifeFlight, according to police.

Speed and alcohol are considered factors in the crash, police said.
