YARMOUTH – York raced to a 2-0 lead and held off North Yarmouth Academy 2-1 Friday in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game.

The Wildcats remained unbeaten at 7-0 and handed the Panthers their first loss after five wins.

Chelsea Morley and Becka Carson each scored for York, with Hannah Keating assisting on both goals.

Kylie Dalbec scored for NYA.

 

YARMOUTH 0, WAYN-FLETE 0: Cassie Cleaves had four saves for the Clippers (0-5-1) and Kailina Mills stopped two shots for the Flyers (2-2-1) at Portland.

CAPE ELIZABETH 7, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Lauren Steidl and Hannah New-hall each had three goals as the Capers (4-2) handled the Rangers (1-5) at Cape Elizabeth.

Molly Thibodeau also scored, and Ally Boyington and Jane Coffrin each had two assists.

Alyssa Lawrence stopped four shots for Traip.

 

GREELY 6, FREEPORT 2: Rachel Hensen scored a pair of goals and CeCi Hodgkins added a goal and an assist as the Rangers (5-1) defeated the Falcons (4-3) at Freeport.

Eliza Porter, Julia Maine and Freya Victory each added a goal.

Katie Turner led the Falcons with a goal and an assist, and Emily Daniel made 11 saves.

 

SCARBOROUGH 4, DEERING 0: Kelsey Howard had a goal and an assist as the Red Storm (5-0) took a 4-0 halftime lead and beat the visiting Rams (0-6).

Lindsay Dobecki, Rachel Millett and Sarah Bunting also scored. Rebecca Mitchell and Shannon Hicks combined on the shutout.

Caley Presby made 12 saves for Deering.

HALL-DALE 3, BOOTHBAY REGION 0: Heidi Towle, Shanay Gilbert and Ally Morin scored to lead the Bulldogs (1-5) to a win at Farmingdale.

 

MARSHWOOD 4, NOBLE 0: The Hawks (3-2-1) got goals from Sammy Crosman, Emily Osborne, Erica Connors and Natalia Bachelder and shut out the Knights (1-5) at South Berwick.

WINDHAM 1, MCAULEY 1: Nikki Walton converted a penalty kick to lift the Eagles (1-1-2) into a tie with McAuley (3-0-1) at Portland.

Nina Davenport took a through ball from Emily Verhoven and scored from 18 yards to give McAuley a 1-0 lead.

Amber Verrill made eight saves for the Eagles. Molly Miller stopped 11 shots for the Lions.

 

CHEVERUS 5, BONNY EAGLE 1: Sadie Lyons scored twice to lead the Stags (4-0-1) over the Scots (1-3-1) at Portland.

Britni Mikulanecz, Abby Maker and Hannah Noonan added a goal each.

Katelyn Boyer scored for Bonny Eagle, and Marisa Butler had 12 saves.

DEERING 5, PORTLAND 0: The Rams (3-2) got goals from Alexis Sivovlos, Veronica Mitchell, Aarika Viola, Chelsea Saucier and Maddie Burns and shut out the visiting Bulldogs (0-5) at Portland.

 

NOBLE 4, WESTBROOK 3: Amylie Anderson scored three times as the Knights (3-2) defeated the Blue Blazes (2-3) at Westbrook.

Emma Pooler also scored for Noble and Steph Needham had 10 saves.

Emily Grossman led West-brook with two goals; Katie Clark also scored and Ashlee Richards made six saves.

MT. ARARAT 9, OXFORD HILLS 1: Haley Michaud scored three goals and Celia Ouellette added two to lead the Eagles (4-1) past the Vikings (0-4) at South Paris.

Randy London had a goal and three assists, and Mary Bastin, Colby Gail and Kaycie Clark also scored for Mt. Ararat.

Dayna Schultz converted a penalty kick for Oxford Hills.

 

SACOPEE VALLEY 3, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Kara Singleton scored two goals, and Emily Lane added a goal and two assists as the Hawks (4-1) rallied to beat the Raiders (0-6) at South Hiram.

THORNTON ACADEMY 2, MARSHWOOD 1: Melanie Hurrell had a goal and an assist as the Trojans (3-1) rallied past the Hawks (0-4) at Saco.

Amelia Jule scored from 12 yards to give Marshwood a 1-0 lead.

Thornton tied it when Kaitlyn Hall scored from 14 yards, then took the lead when Hurrell scored from close range.

Tatum Schladenhauffen had 17 saves for the Hawks.

BRUNSWICK 2, ERSKINE 0: Rodrigo Cepeda and Matt Kasapian each scored a goal to lead the Dragons (5-0) to a victory over the Eagles (2-2-1) at Brunswick.

Konnor Scarponi added an assist for Brunswick. Seth Holmblad made three saves.

Zack Busmanis stopped seven shots for Erskine.

 

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 10, HIGHLAND CHRISTIAN 1: Anthony Simpson scored five goals and Ben Hammond added three to lead Greater Portland Christian (2-1) past Highview Christian (1-1) at Woolwich.
