A Maine member of the Iron Horsemen motorcycle gang was shot dead by Cincinnati police over the weekend.

Police in Ohio confirmed today that Harry Walter Seavey Jr., 51, was killed in a shootout with police at 7 p.m. Saturday at JD’s Honky Tonk and Emporium.

Seavey was standing lookout at the club, according to published reports, when undercover officers approached the bar. One or possibly two people started shooting from inside the club and police returned fire, killing Seavey.

Two officers were injured by gunfire, and were treated and released from a local hospital that same night, a police spokeswoman said. A fourth person, a member of the Iron Horsemen, was shot in the foot, police said.

Police were unable to say how long Seavey had been in Ohio and police would provide no details on the investigation that was under way.

Police in Maine say Seavey had been wanted on outstanding arrest warrants, but not for anything major.
