FRYEBURG – Luke Pierce scored off a pass from Ryan Maguire as Yarmouth survived an upset bid by Fryeburg Academy for a 1-0 victory Friday in a Western Maine Conference boys’ soccer game.

Chris Knaub made three saves for the Clippers (5-0-1), and Mike Creegan finished with four saves for the Raiders (2-5).

 

WAYNFLETE 3, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Omar Abdille scored two second-half goals as the Flyers (4-0-1) pulled away from the Rangers (1-5-1) at Kittery.

Paul Runyambo opened the scoring for Waynflete 10 minutes into the game; Daniel Wiener had an assist.

Lucas Edwards scored for Traip with 50 seconds left.

WESTBROOK 3, MARSHWOOD 0: Reece LeClair had a goal and two assists as Westbrook (2-4-1) upended visiting Marshwood (5-2).

Nate Mailly and Andrew Sousa also scored. Austin Watts made two saves to earn the shutout.

Jackson Towle stopped nine shots for the Hawks.

 

WINDHAM 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Robbie Lentine had a goal and an assist as the Eagles (6-1-1) shut out Thornton (0-7) at Windham.

Bryan Soucy opened the scoring 22:18 into the game, striking a 25-yarder just under the crossbar. Lentine crossed the ball to McGyver Poulin 12 minutes later for a 2-0 lead, then scored 1:15 into the second half from Brandon Hodge.

 

HALL-DALE 4, WINTHROP 1: Austin Bechard had two goals as the Bulldogs (5-2) beat the Ramblers (1-6) at Farmingdale.

Kevin Zembrowski and Sam Shepherd also scored and Colin Lush had an assist for Hall-Dale.

Ryan Valle scored from Evan Arbor for Winthrop.

WAYNFLETE 5, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Ella Millard had two goals and an assist as the Flyers (3-2) shut out the Rangers (1-4) at Portland.

Becky Smith, Lydia Stegeman and Sophia Canning each scored a goal.

Selena Lorrey made 20 saves for Traip Academy.

 

YARMOUTH 5, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Devin Simsarian had three goals and Danielle Torres had two goals and two assists to lead the Clippers (7-0) past the Raiders (0-9) at Yarmouth.

Gina Lowrie and Courtney Baker added one assist apiece for Yarmouth, and Olivia Smith made two saves to record the shutout.

Fryeburg keeper Maggie McConkey had 20 saves.

 

BRUNSWICK 3, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Lyse Henshaw scored twice and the Dragons (7-0) outshot the Red Eddies 12-2 in a shutout at Auburn.

Becky Champagne also scored for Brunswick. Lydia Caputi earned the shutout.

Emily Hammett made nine saves for Edward Little (3-4).

GREELY 2, LAKE REGION 1: Libby Thomas and Teal Otley scored to help the Rangers (3-3) to a victory over Lake Region (2-6) in Cumberland.

Lakers goalie Emily Bartlett kept the game close with 18 saves.

 

YORK 5, FREEPORT 0: Kayla Swasey scored two goals and Nikki Taylor added a goal and an assist as the Wildcats (7-0) scored five second-half goals in 12 minutes to blow past the Falcons (5-2-1) at York.

Abby Schriefer and Ruby Cribby each added a goal and Hannah Daigneault also had an assist.

Abby Roney made 18 saves for Freeport.

MONMOUTH ACAD- EMY 4, BOOTHBAY 2: Ashley Coulombe had two goals and Chelse Arsenault had a goal and an assist as the Mustangs (4-3) beat the Seahawks (1-6) at Boothbay Harbor.

Nell Anthony and Hannah Winslow scored for Boothbay.

 

CONY 1, ERSKINE ACADEMY 1: Josie Lee scored with an assist from Hayley Quirion five minutes into the game for Cony (2-3-2), and Taylor Chase scored from Bridget Humphrey 23 minutes into the second half for Erskine (2-4-1) in a tie at South China.

Melanie Guzman and Shayna Perkins each had four saves for Cony. Jessica Souther had 10 saves for Erskine.

FIELD HOCKEY

WAYNFLETE 2, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Lindsey Sinicki scored her second goal of the game with six minutes left to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Flyers (3-3-1) over the Rangers (1-8) at Kittery.

Traip tied the game with 10 minutes left on a goal by Kaylie Andrews.

Kayla Alaimo played a strong defensive game for the Rangers and Alyssa Lawrence finished with 17 saves.

Waynflete keeper Kailina Mills made four saves.

KENNEBUNK 2, PORTLAND 0: Jenn Davis broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the second half as the Rams (5-2-1) defeated the Bulldogs (3-4) at Portland.

Hannah King added a goal on a penalty stroke and Kelsey Livermore needed three saves for the shutout.

Portland keeper Kathleen Dalbec recorded 13 saves.

 

THORNTON ACADEMY 2, SANFORD 0: Katrina Thibodeau scored on an assist from Morgan Ouellette-Foss with one second left in the first half as the Trojans (5-2-1) edged the Redskins (4-4) at Sanford.

Katie Campisi added a goal midway through the second half.

Abbey Siulinski made 13 saves to earn the shutout. Sarah Stanley stopped 12 shots for Sanford, including a penalty stroke early in the second half.

 

WESTBROOK 7, BIDDEFORD 0: Sarah Howard had two goals and an assist and Melissa Pettis added a goal and two assists to lead Westbrook (6-1) to a win at Biddeford (2-5).

Olivia Marsden, Ally Lemay, Sam Kelly and Sydney Hebert also scored.

Tiffany Gagne made 15 saves for the Tigers.
