LEWISTON — About 200 rural Maine cable television subscribers are going to be losing their service next month because their provider can’t afford to continue to serve them.

The Sun Journal of Lewiston says Argent Communications of Bristol, N.H., will end service on Oct. 15 to customers in the Franklin County towns of Chesterville, New Sharon, Temple and Weld. Argent will continue to serve customers in the Rangeley area.

Argent Vice President Andrew Bauer says the company has tried to find another company to pick up the service, but they have been unable to do so.

Bauer says customers only option is probably to seek satellite television service.
