Liza Minnelli canceled her concert in Portland on Wednesday night. Portland Ovations said the postponement was because of an illness.

“Ms. Minnelli fell ill just prior to her afternoon sound check and can not perform as scheduled,” Portland Ovations said in a statement.  “Ms. Minnelli and Portland Ovations deeply regret the disapointment this will cause her fans.”

Portland Ovations is in the process of trying to reschedule the concert and asks ticket holders to wait for further details.

“No further information about Ms. Minnelli’s condition is available at this time,” Portland Ovations said. “She is on her way back to New York City and we wish her a speedy recovery.”

Minnelli, 64, has won all the major entertainment awards, including an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. She released a new CD on Tuesday.

City officials had planned to present her with the key to the city after her performance.
