Army Master Sgt. Anthony F. Zarate, a master trainer, has been assigned to the Denver, Colo., Army Recruiting Battalion. He is the son of Susan Ladde of Weld, and his wife, Kelly, is the daughter of Edith Packard of Portland. Zarate graduated from Deering High School in 1993 and received an associate degree in 2006 from Coastline Community College. He has served in the military for 15 years.
Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Timothy Fox has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Alex and Marina Fox of Gorham and is a 2004 graduate of Gorham High School.
HM3 Michael R. Atwell, a Navy combat medic who has been working with the Marines, has returned from Afghanistan and recently received a commendation from the Marie Corps. Atwell is the son of Leigh Atwell Mallettte and Robert Atwell and is a graduate of Sanford High School. He is stationed at 29 Palms, Calif., where he lives with his wife Crystal and son Gavin.
Navy Seaman Jacob N. Rozdilsky, a 2002 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School, Topsham, completed Navy basic training with honors, at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
