THRIFTY FASHIONISTAS will want to attend Dress for Less fashion show by St. David’s Episcopal Church. Featured fashions come from the Budget Box, the church’s consigment shop, and will be for sale after the show.

Scramble to get to Fryeburg Fair
THERE’S GOING to be lots of pulling on the opening day of the Fryeburg Fair: horse pulling, oxen pulling, tractor pulling, maybe even carnies pulling patsies — er, parents — to their booths to try to win junior yet another stuffed animal. There will also be a midway, live children’s theater, livestock exhibits and more.
WHEN: Opens 8 a.m. Sunday; runs through Oct. 10.
WHERE: Route 5, Fryeburg
HOW MUCH: $10 admission; $5 for parking; free for children under 12. Seniors 65 and older get in free Tuesday.
